Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Arkenrift (the "Game"), a browser-based multiplayer game. By creating an account or otherwise playing the Game, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Game.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you should have a parent or guardian's permission to play. The Game does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13; if you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us at cluckotron@gmail.com so it can be removed.
2. Accounts
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity that happens under your account.
- One account may hold multiple characters. Accounts, characters, and any in-game items or currency are not property in a legal sense — they exist only within the Game's database and have no cash value.
- You may not sell, trade, or transfer your account, or buy, sell, or trade accounts, items, or currency for real-world money or goods outside the Game.
3. Acceptable Use
Playing the Game does not give you the right to do any of the following:
- Exploit bugs, glitches, or unintended mechanics for advantage instead of reporting them.
- Use bots, scripts, macros, or other automation to play on your behalf.
- Harass, threaten, or deliberately target other players outside of the Game's own PvP systems.
- Impersonate another player, a staff member, or anyone else.
- Attempt to disrupt, overload, or gain unauthorized access to the Game's servers, other accounts, or data you don't own.
- Use a character name, guild name, or chat message that is intentionally offensive, hateful, or a real person's name used to impersonate them.
4. User-Generated Content
Character names, guild names, and anything you type in chat are your responsibility. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate these Terms, at our discretion, without prior notice.
5. Account Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate an account that violates these Terms. You may stop using the Game at any time. Deleting your account does not entitle you to compensation of any kind, since nothing in the Game has real-world monetary value.
6. No Warranty
The Game is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. It is run as a hobby/independent project, not a commercial service with a guaranteed uptime or support commitment. Characters, items, and progress may be lost due to bugs, server issues, or maintenance, and we are not liable for that loss.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Game, including loss of data or in-game progress.
8. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Game after a change means you accept the updated Terms. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
